FOUR AMERICAN EDUCATORS STABBED IN PUBLIC PARK IN NORTHEAST CHINA, NO CONFIRMATION FROM CHINESE AUTHORITIES

At least four American educators from a small university in Iowa were allegedly stabbed in a public park in the Jilin province of northeast China over the weekend, according to US media and US government officials. The educators were visiting a partner university in China when the attack occurred.

The US Congress representative from Iowa, Mariannette Miller-Meeks, stated that they are communicating with the US Embassy to address this matter. Iowa's Governor Kim Reynolds also said she is in touch with the US State Department about the "horrifying" attack.

"We are working through proper channels and requesting to speak with the US Embassy on appropriate matters to ensure that the victims first receive quality care for their injuries and then get out of China in a medically feasible manner," Iowa's Congress representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks wrote on X.

The college spokesperson, Jen Visser, confirmed the stabbing happened in Jilin City and the partner university was Beihua University. The US State Department is monitoring the situation, but there have been no statements issued by Chinese authorities or reports found in Chinese media about this incident.
